Groups, roles and shared documents

A group in Scraiber maps onto how research actually organises itself - a lab, a reading group, a seminar or a course. You assign roles, control who has access to what, and keep the group’s shared documents in one place instead of in a chain of email attachments.

Members write in the same document at the same time. A supervisor can follow a doctoral student’s manuscript without a round of file versions, and a group keeps its own reference material where the group can find it.

Pricing for a department, not per person

The Teams plan is priced by volume per seat, so a department or an entire university pays a rate that reflects its size rather than the list price multiplied by headcount. Seats can cover researchers, doctoral students and administrative staff alike.

Data protection your legal office can read

• Article 28 GDPR data processing agreement. For organisation and institution customers, the institution is the controller and Scraiber GmbH the processor. The terms are published in full - see the data processing agreement - and a countersigned copy is available on request.
• Administrators hold the data rights. The product lets administrators access, correct, export and delete the data of their own members directly, so a data subject request does not have to travel through us first.
• Security measures under Article 32. Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, and the sub-processors we use are listed by name in the DPA rather than described in the abstract.
• International transfers are documented. Personal data is processed in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore; transfers outside the EEA are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We say this plainly because procurement will ask.

For libraries: a free requirement database

Library guides on scholarly publishing point researchers at tools that answer which journal should I submit to - journal finders and manuscript matchers. Very few answer the question that follows: what does this particular journal require? Non-compliance with a journal’s instructions for authors is a routine cause of desk rejection.

Scraiber publishes requirement profiles for 7,203 journals as public pages, one per journal: length limits, citation style, figure and table rules, submission policies.
